Review: JJC EF-RF Lens Mount Adapter

Brief description. The JJC CA-EF_RF Lens Mount Adapter allows you to attach Canon EF / EF-S lenses to any Canon RF camera body. It allows you to use prime lenses: saving on the cost of purchasing a new lens. This lens mount adapter maintains full focus so full image stabilization has no optical components, and thus retains the original optical quality of the inserted lens. Its sturdy aluminum alloy structure provides a secure and durable connection between the camera and lens. The interior's matte finish prevents it from shining. It is also a mobile tripod with a 1/4 ”-20 tripod inside.

Quality / ease of use . With the release of the Canon R5 R6, it was not available until you were willing to pay to try and find a lens mount adapter or control adapter on Amazon , B&H Photo , Adorama or Canon online stores. eBay pushes prices.

More and more third-party manufacturers are launching their own products. One of them is the famous JJC. They are known for their lens caps, caps and many other accessories. I thought I would try to see the contrast with a Canon adapter.

When you get your hands on a JJC EF-RF lens mount adapter, there are not too many of them. Dust plate mounting adapter, includes pocket booklet.

The Canon adapter comes in a nice casing that looks like a Speedlite headlight.

The JJC adapter is made of premium aluminum bass. So it certainly does not look like cheap plastic. Even though JJC says the finish is matte, it still has a bright sheen or sheen.

What the JJC has, what the Canon adapter lacks, is a tripod with a 1 / 4-20 inch connection at the bottom. This is a great application if you use heavy lenses and do not want to install everything. You filter at the bottom of the space, but want to balance the weight distribution. If you do not want food on a tripod, you can easily remove it by loosening the two Philips screws.

I want the mat adapter to look like an OEM Canon or camera body.

There is an indicator on the body of the JJC mounting adapter where the lens should be attached. You have a switch on the side to disconnect from the lens mount. Mounting and marking meet Canon requirements.

I would prefer JJC to do a little better by publishing his own indicators. The body of the JJC adapter is printed entirely in white, where, like Canon, it is marked on its adapter pins, which you can see in the picture below. It does not really matter when it is on the camera body, but it would be nice if they could mimic the Canon in red. This makes it a little easier to connect the lens or adapter to the camera body. It can be easily fixed with a red Sharpie Market or red nail polish.

For comparison, there is a JJC mounting adapter on the left and a Canon control ring adapter on the right.

The JJC Mount Adapter has as many contact connections as the Canon Adapter. The inside of the horse is a little different: the JJC is a little more rounded, and the Canon is a little more square. I'm not sure if there's any other reason, whether it might be a production decision to cut costs or something, but it does not affect the image or compatibility.

I do not have the main adapter, but the control panel adapter is a bit wider than the JJC. One thing I would like to include with the JJC is a rubber seal, where the adapter fits snugly against the camera body. The control adapter has a rubber seal all around so it can withstand the weather.

The lens fits my R6. I have no problem turning it on or off. There are no gaps between the adapter, camera body or lens. The EF 85mm f1.2L II fits perfectly.

I added the old EF 16-35mm f2.8L EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS III which also fits perfectly. Even with heavy lenses, the adapter can break or damage the lens or camera.

But most importantly, what about autofocus? I must say that it worked flawlessly, without any problems. Fast AF is just as fast as Canon's more expensive adapters.

Watch our dissolution, review the comparison video.

Closure. Overall, the JJC EF-RF Lens Adapter Mount works well, with autofocus as fast as the Canon OEM adapter. I would like a rubber gasket to fit the Canon adapter.

Otherwise, for about $ 57, it's a great alternative or temporary solution for those who need an adapter to attach their EF-RF lenses, but find it hard to find Canon's versions. And if you invest heavily in EF lenses, you do not have the money to buy Russians, which is great for attaching to your EF lenses, rather than plugging the adapter into your camera and turning it off all the time. . activity. .

There are other adapters to attach lenses from other manufacturers. You can see the list we have compiled here.
