Review: PEIPRO L-Plate (Bracket) Extension Camera Grip for Canon R5 R6

Summary: The PE PEPRO Bracket is specially designed for Canon EOS R5 and R6 mirrorless digital cameras. It features bracket mounts that match both the vertical and horizontal shafts, so you can switch the camera from vertical to horizontal when using a tripod with brackets. The adjustable side panel allows you to connect a mounting cable and other wires to the side ports of the camera and also has several 1/4 "-20 sockets for attaching accessories such as lights or microphones to the bottom and side of the panel.

Characteristics:
  • Made of aircraft grade aluminum alloy
  • Horizontal (Vertical) and Vertical (Vertical) mounting positions.
  • Arch plate
  • Access to the battery cart
  • Integrated magnetic storage tool
  • Weight 123 grams

Quality / Ease of Use: Ever since I bought the MCOPLUS EG-E1 Extended Metal Grip for Canon RP, I've been looking for something similar to the Canon R6 (R5 uses the same accessory). The Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip will make the camera look bigger and I do not need portrait orientation or extra battery life. Not to mention the price Canon wants for its control ($ 349.99).

Searching the internet, I came across a PEIPRO L plate (in parentheses) for a Canon R5 and R6 camera. There were many of the features I wanted, such as an Arca-Swiss panel, low cost and most importantly, an add-on. So let’s take a closer look.

The PEIPRO L tile comes in a brown box with a blackboard and two charms.

The largest hex key is for larger silver screws to connect the panel to the camera or to remove / extend the L-shaped side panel (up to 23 mm). The Allen mini key is for the two small screws that secure the L plate to the main panel. This allows you to remove it or move the side panel forward or backward.

Most L boards on the market have an Arca-Swiss fit, but they close the battery door and have one piece instead of two. What I like about PEIPRO is that it not only has Ark-Switzerland compatibility, but also extends to the full width of the camera. Provides a camera extension and a battery port for the Pinky device. It consists of two parts, so you can remove the side plate if you do not need it.

There is an additional 1/4 "-20 hole at the bottom and an L-shaped plate around additional accessories such as microphones, lights, monitors, etc.

A nice added feature is the ability to store large hexagonal keys at the bottom of the table. There are two small magnets that help hold it in place. When you want to use the tool, just move it.

Here are some pictures of the L-shaped block in the scene of the "explosion", as well as what it would look like if mounted on the camera.

Left image: Remove the large L screw at the end until the L-shaped panel is completely removed. However, it leaves a gap between the camera and the panel.

Medium photo: remove two small screws, this allows you to remove only the L-shaped panel, but the installation remains firm and leaves no holes. This is my favorite L-shaped pillow configuration

Image on the right: Panel L consists of three parts in total. If you leave everything connected, you will have a full L card.

Unlike the MCOPLUS RP panel, it is not necessary to replace the battery door. There is a hole in the panel to access the battery door. There is enough space to open the battery door smoothly. There is also a small cut near the battery door for joining a ring such as the Peak Design Anchor Link. If you are using a manual whip, depending on the width of the whip, it may be convenient. I occasionally use the Spider Pro bracelet and there is no easy way to use it without closing the battery door.

My only complaint is that the battery door was a bit hard to reach. I have no nails and my fingers slide as I try to open the latch. Until I open the battery door, I need help what can I get. I wish there were still some tricks to make things a little easier, but this is just a personal choice. Others may not be able to access the battery door.

See here the PEIPRO attached to the end of the R6. The side appears without the L plate, which would be my main installation because I do not use the L plate which is often on the tripod.

The L plate shown is installed. You will be able to fold and rotate the screen. If you are using one of the side gates, slide the L-shaped table so that you can insert the gates and insert the cables.

The Arca-Switzerland match will correspond to the Arca-Switzerland header. I have a ball head with a Kingjoy G1 , SunWeFoto XB-52L , an Arca-Switzerland ball head and a Heisner photo clip.

The beauty is that the capture acts as a stop. If you move the camera over the Arca-Swiss beam, it can only slide from right to left. So if you do not use the L-shaped lock and do not rotate the ball head so that the camera is in portrait mode, the camera will not slide accidentally.

As I mentioned, one of the best features of the PEIPRO is the extra height you add to the bottom of the handle, which slightly stretches the camera and makes room for your little finger. Depending on the size of your hand, it makes it easy to hold the camera and do not squeeze it.

Conclusion : Overall, the PEIPRO L-Plate Camera Extension Handle (Bracket) for Canon R5 R6 is the card I'm looking for. It has an integrated Arca-Swiss compatible plate, so no additional plates are needed and this is the full width of the camera body. This allows the camera to sit on a flat surface and add extra height to the bottom of the little finger grip.

My only complaint is that I had a hard time opening the battery door. I can pull the latch, but I can't open the door. It could be the lack of nails on the fingers or it could be the height added to the board that is causing me problems. I just need to use something to help. Just a little annoyance on my part.
